Birthday with a Bang
The bonds of friendship are like Hercules' hair, they can never be broken. Sometimes these bonds might be tested by time but in the end nothing will be able to break them if the hearts' of the friends who are bonded are one. I-Badillo, the section that changed my world, went out today for Nikko's birthday bash. It has been quite some time since the last gimmick but it only seems like yesterday that we were enjoying each other's company. We've known each other for four long years and 'til now, we're still solid. We've parted ways but in an instant, we could make our paths meet. Laughter will always be the main ingredient of each other's company. Saying I enjoyed their company would be an understatement. It's just something special that we share. I can't seem to explain it but it's there. People say that we're the most bonded first year section. Other people don't even communicate with their first year sections anymore but Badillo will still stand strong because 'What's Da Point?' Today's moment might not be perfect but it's still magical, like fireworks. Before I narrate the events that lead up to this spectacular event, let me tell you something about fireworks. Fireworks are very special. They could only be seen on special occassions and unique moments. Though quite rare, they're still very pretty, exciting, magical, give me any other positive adjective and it would describe this wonder. They make you speechless and make you feel like a kid again. They make you open-mouthed. Fireworks are like the times that Badillo goes out. They're quite rare but still every time we're with each other it's so magical and tons of fun.
Today was quite weird, you know. The morning was spent taking the Metropolitan Achievement Test which modesty aside, we could've taken during our third grade in Elem. and still aced it. After that we were told that we wouldn't have classes anymore so we just went to the UCB and watched the second years with their field demonstrations. I, as usual, was trying to imitate the steps. When the clock struck 12, the STEP contestants went to the main lobby for our trip to Maceda High School where the awarding ceremony will take place. They said that it will be done by 2 pm but I guess 2 pm actually meant 4 or 5. Filipino time as always. At that time the Badillo people are already calling me and I wanted to leave but of course, we had to wait for the announcement of MaSci as the 4th placer-overall. The ride home seemed like eternity but we finally arrived at MaSci. While inside the van, Baby J was asking me where they would eat. I found it funny but touching. It's just that I remember all those times that we go out and it would always be me who'd have the final say as to where we would eat. I remember all the outings and gimmicks that I've planned and organized. I guess I with the other Badillo am used to being the mother. Even if they sometimes make fun of my overbossy nature, I still love them for being understanding of my nature. Well, before I so rudely interrupted myself, I was saying that when we arrived at MaSci, we found the office locked. I was already panicking because it was already 530 and people are already waiting for me at SM MoA. In the end, I decided to go on and just ask my sister to bring my bag home if ever someone opened the office. I thank her for that. Anyhoo, as I was riding the LRT, which by the way has no aircon and is one of those which have passengers shoulder to shoulder. I rushed to find them and there they were, laughing their heads off. As usual, Daryll is the head of the jokes. It's so nice to be back in their company. As we watch the fireworks together, I can't help myself but sigh and think of all the happy memories we had had. These people will really stay in my heart forever.
